WHAT IS INNATE POSTPARTUM CARE?

“Postpartum” is the time following any pregnancy. All around the world we find similar ancient postpartum traditions that are rooted in our natural design as humans. Through gestation and birth, women are stretched to their capacity on every level. True postpartum care focuses on physical recovery, emotional and spiritual support for the mother, and allows for the essential integration of all that comes up through gestation and birth. The longterm health of women and children is dependent on proper care in the postpartum.

I support mothers to deeply bond with their babies, process and heal from their experience, and learn to trust their intuitive mothering. I am also here to help organize your family + community to support you during this time, because it truly takes a village. As a society we have to remember the sacredness of this time and honor the total transformation that happens with motherhood. When mothers are seen, held, and cared for during the postpartum, they will emerge rejuvenated and empowered to guide the next generation.

I am an Certified Innate Postpartum Care Practitioner and completed my training with Rachelle Seliga of Innate Traditions. I combine traditional wisdom learned from this training with my studies in Chinese Medicine, Human Design, Astrology and the Creation Methodology and more to provide highly specialized care during the first 40 days postpartum.

If you live in a different area, I offer virtual postpartum care consultations. Or check out the Innate Practitioner directory.

Prevent long-term complications like prolapse, incontinence, pelvic pain, menstrual issues or chronic fatigue.

Allows you to emerge from the postpartum time feeling strong and rejuvenated.

How can I afford this work?

At this time on Earth we are remembering that postpartum care is an essential need. Most of us haven’t included postpartum care in our budgets, so it may seem like an expense you can’t afford. Here are some ideas for finding the resources:

  • Community support. Instead of spending a lot of money on a baby shower or asking your friends and family for a lot of baby things—many of which are only used for a short period of time, could be borrowed, etc.— ask them to fund your postpartum care. Have your best friend organize this for you.

  • Health insurance. Many health insurance companies will pay for acupuncture. I can provide receipts that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.

  • Payment plans. I offer several payment plan options so you can pay over time.

  • Health Savings Account (HSA). Acupuncture is an acceptable expense for most HSAs. You can use your HSA to pay for your care.

  • Prevention. Spending money on your postpartum care will save you money in the future. Things like prolapse, pelvic pain, menstrual issues, mental health crises, fatigue and even menopausal issues can be avoided with proper care during this time.
